Increase in orders API discounts without corresponding configuration

Orders API response data includes information about discounts that apply to an order. In some cases, discounts for an order are not Toast platform discounts at all and reflect discounts and price changes from other integrated systems. For example, an order might include a discount that was applied outside the Toast platform. The frequency of discounts that do not have corresponding configuration in the Toast platform will increase in the coming months.

Orders API orders already include this type of discount and there is no change to orders API behavior. If your integration encounters an increase in discounts without Toast platform configuration, you do not need to alter your integration or adjust the way you work with the Toast platform.
